Problem

Nitrogen dioxide can be produced by reacting oxygen and nitrogen monoxide: O2(g)+2NO(g)→2NO2(g)\text{O}_2(\text{g}) + 2\text{NO}(\text{g}) \rightarrow 2\text{NO}_2(\text{g}) A student performed a series of experiments to determine the order of reaction with respect to O2\text{O}_2 and NO\text{NO}. The results are given in the table.
ExperimentInitial [O2]/mol dm−3[\text{O}_2] / \text{mol dm}^{-3}Initial [NO]/mol dm−3[\text{NO}] / \text{mol dm}^{-3}Temperature / KInitial rate / mol dm−3s−1\text{mol dm}^{-3} \text{s}^{-1}
