Problem

For the single-electron ion Be3+{\rm Be}^{3+}, answer the following: (i) Obtain the ratio of the radii of the electron orbits corresponding to n=2n=2 and n=5n=5. (ii) Find the ratio of the corresponding orbital speeds. (iii) Calculate the percentage decrease in the magnitude of the total energy when the electron jumps from n=2n=2 to n=5n=5.
