Problem

Define the least common multiple of two nonzero integers aa and bb, denoted by lcm(a,b)\text{lcm}(a,b), to be the nonnegative integer mm such that both aa and bb divide mm, and if aa and bb divide any other integer nn, then mm also divides nn. Prove there exists a unique least common multiple for any two integers aa and bb. Hint. Use the Principle of Well-Ordering and the division algorithm.
