Problem

In △ABC\triangle ABC, points DD and EE lie on ABAB and ACAC respectively such that DE∥BCDE\parallel BC. A second line FGFG is drawn inside △ADE\triangle ADE to meet ADAD at FF and AEAE at GG, with FG∥DEFG\parallel DE. Given AD=4 cmAD = 4\,\text{cm}, DB=8 cmDB = 8\,\text{cm}, AC=18 cmAC = 18\,\text{cm} and AF=3 cmAF = 3\,\text{cm}, answer the following questions. a. (i) Find the lengths of AEAE and ECEC. b. (ii) Calculate FDFD. c. (iii) Determine the lengths of AGAG and GEGE.
