Problem

Show that, for a spherical star of uniform density ρ\rho, R2<c23πGρandM2<16c6243πρG3.R^2 < \frac{c^2}{3\pi G\rho} \quad \text{and} \quad M^2 < \frac{16c^6}{243\pi\rho G^3}. If a photon is emitted from the star's surface and received by a stationary observer at infinity, show that the observed redshift must obey the constraint z<2z < 2. Show also, however, that the observed redshift for a photon emitted from the star's centre can be arbitrarily large.
