Problem

A straight line passes through the points C(32, −4)C\bigl(\tfrac{3}{2},\,-4\bigr) and D(6,2)D(6,2). Answer the following: (i) Find the slope of the line CDCD. (ii) Using the result of part (i), obtain the equation of the line in the form y=mx+cy=mx+c. (iii) Determine the coordinates of the point where this line meets the yy–axis. (iv) Verify whether the point E(9,5)E(9,5) lies on the same line, showing all necessary working.
