Problem

(a) Give an example of nilpotent operators S,TS, T on the same vector space such that neither S+TS + T nor STST is nilpotent. (b) Suppose S,T∈L(V)S, T \in \mathcal{L}(V) are nilpotent and ST=TSST = TS. Prove that S+TS + T and STST are nilpotent.
