Problem

A small alternator is required to supply 230 V230\,\text{V} rms at a frequency not exceeding 60 Hz60\,\text{Hz}. The available design constraints are: magnetic field 0.30 T0.30\,\text{T} and coil area 0.080 m20.080\,\text{m}^2. a. (i) Determine the minimum whole-number of turns the coil should have to meet the voltage specification. b. (ii) For this number of turns, calculate the rotational speed of the rotor in revolutions per minute (rpm).
